Description:

Kodiak was founded in April 2018 to develop autonomous technology that carries freight forward—so people, partners, and the planet thrive. Navigating highway environments presents vastly different challenges than urban streets. Kodiak’s experienced team has developed the industry’s most advanced technology stack purpose-built specifically for long-haul trucks. From our sensor fusion system that maximizes the value of every sensing modality, to our unique lightweight mapping solution that allows our trucks to navigate ever-changing highway construction zones, our world-class team of industry pioneers is bringing the benefits of autonomy to the $800B a year trucking industry quickly, safely, and efficiently.
We are looking for a highly skilled Software Engineer to join the Perception team and build world-class deep learning training, evaluation, and deployment infrastructure for the development of the perception and prediction modules of our self-driving semi trucks.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or closely related.
  • At least 6 months of experience in the job offered or at least 6 months of experience in the following:
  • Machine Learning
  • Deep Learning
  • Computer Vision
  • PyTorch
  • Python
  • Experience may be gained through full-time employment or internship.
  • Please reference code SEPZM429 when you apply—applications without this reference may not be processed.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deploy computer vision models and software modules for an autonomous vehicle fleet.
  • Deliver highly robust monocular 3D scene reconstruction from camera images and deploy reliable and performant modules across a nationwide fleet of self-driving semi-trucks.
  • Modules must be capable of detecting and tracking pedestrians, motorbikes, cyclists, vehicles and debris using 8 cameras.
  • Work with computer vision, deep learning, image processing, and camera systems.
  • Algorithm and model development and optimization, evaluation, deployment on fleet, and maintenance as necessary, including continuous iteration and improvement.
  • Deliver surrounding offboard infrastructure, including metrics, label pipelines, simulation, and diagnostics.
  • Perform scientific analysis in a research setting to generate insights and deliver novel architectures and approaches.
  • Position is a work-from-home opportunity anywhere in the United States.
