Software Engineer

Longboard utilizes a full suite of both third-party and internally developed software tools to operate our world-class production facility and to provide excellent service to our clients. As a Software Engineer, you will be expected to contribute to the design, build and ongoing maintenance of both customer-facing and internal web applications and third-party software. These systems will be critical to the ongoing success of Longboard and to prepare the company’s systems and processes for significant growth and manufacturing and customer service excellence. This work will also include integrations with several external parties, including shipping couriers, payment processing, and other systems. The technology stack is primarily ReactJs, Python, MySQL and Kubernetes on AWS.
The annual salary range for this role is $70,000 - $100,000.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must-Have:

• 2+ years of full-time experience in Python building secure RESTful API’s
• 2+ years of quality experience with SQL including handwritten queries
• Comfortable with Git
• Strong communication skills to work with developers, designers, and contractors
• Strong testing skills
• Self-motivated and driven to meet personal and company goals
• Ability to independently manage time to meet project deadlines
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with other team members
• Effective written and verbal communication skills

Nice to Have:

• FastAPI experience
• Docker or Kubernetes experience
• AWS or GCP experience
• Search engine experience
• Image processing experience
• Stripe experience
• Golang experience

• Work with key stakeholders to design and build internally developed software to meet functional requirements.
• Have a presence on our production floor to implement quality-of-life improvements for our production employees and to continually “find a better way” to improve throughput, inventory and production accuracy and process flows with technology.
• Design, build and maintain a number of internally developed manufacturing and sales tools
• Gain a deeper understanding of our manufacturing process and technologies, as well as understanding the needs for our customer facing processes and requirements.
• Build and maintain RESTful API’s on public and private services for custom web applications
• Develop integrations with a variety of RESTful services
• Maintain MySQL database table structures and design
• Ensure APIs are secure and performing appropriately to the requirements
• Frontend development using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
