Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Media Experience team supports the user-facing part of the media platform, which enables images and video across Samsara’s products. Our mission is to enable our customers’ employees to document and investigate operational activities using images and video. We emphasize media stewardship, ensuring privacy and security are respected. As an engineer on this team, you’ll play a major role in the development of this critical infrastructure.
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:
- Solve complex problems as you architect, build, test, and deliver full-stack products
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, designers, and support teams
- Build upon skills and knowledge across a range of technologies such as Go, GraphQL, Typescript, React, React Native, MySQL and SparkSQL
- Own the operational health of production systems as we build for the future scale of an ever-growing customer base
- Make an impact on our core architecture, roadmap, and the wider engineering community
- Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE:
- A strong educational foundation in Computer Science
- 2+ years of experience working professionally on a software product team
- Knowledge of designing, architecting, developing and monitoring full-stack applications at scale
- Experience leading projects from design through rollout to deliver features to end users
- Experience using data to investigate issues and make decisions
- Currently residing in Canada
