Description of Project:
The team is working toward a major software release in the Summer of 2024. Regression testing for this release is in progress. Regression testing for this release is in progress. Engineers in this role will work with QA Analysts to fix bugs found during regression testing of this release. The overall objective will be a release version that is stable with only low-priority known bugs. Alone or working with a team: Software Engineers in this role would work with an existing team of 5 to 10 of engineers and a few QA Analysts. Existing or New Applications: Existing accounting application, MS SQL Server

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience with Ruby on Rails, Go, and SQL.
• 2+ of relevant experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Open Metal, is preferred.
• Proficiency in debugging code across various languages and tools
• Familiarity with GitHub and Jira is essential.
• Good spoken English is a must.

Will be a plus:

• Data transfer objects (DTOs), DSL functions, Redis, Resque, Puma, Apache, Rspec, and Passenger.

Responsibilities:

When the software engineer starts, a set of tickets will have been created by the QA team. The engineer will be expected to do the following with these:

• Read and understand the requirements of each ticket, getting immediate feedback from the QA Analyst and/or W Energy SME via phone or chat as needed
• If a code change solution is required for a ticket, deliver that code change and discuss it with the QA Analyst
• As the QA team continues regression testing, the software engineer will be expected to provide assistance and support ad hoc if the QA Analyst has questions about why the software is behaving in a certain way
• Must Haves: Must be willing and able to take an active role in communicating with QA Analysts, SMEs, and Product so that all blockers are resolved quickly and all stakeholders can have confidence in the stability of the release.
