An opportunity to play your part – Joining the Centrica Field Operations Platform as a Software Engineering Manager, you’ll contribute to enhancing our ability to forecast and plan colleague availability, aligning it with customer demand to efficiently dispatch engineers with the required skills to customers’ homes. Collaborating with the ‘Head of Engineering’ and the ‘Head of Product,’ you’ll shape the platform strategy, roadmap, and execution. Your responsibilities will include designing the Field Operations Platform and defining its non-functional requirements, with a pivotal role in steering the team’s technical direction in alignment with Centrica’s overarching strategy.

THE DAY TO DAY –

  • Lead the creation, integration, and execution of innovative features to address business requirements effectively.
  • Provide technical direction to the team, contribute to design evaluations, and ensure design excellence.
  • Oversee the software development lifecycle across Field platform squads to support business objectives seamlessly.
  • Drive enhancements in deployment, monitoring, alerting, and incident management practices proactively.
  • Coordinate stakeholder engagement, including planning and facilitating communications.
  • Monitor and enhance engineering excellence metrics within squads, continuously seeking improvement.
  • Mentor team engineers in adopting and maintaining high-quality engineering standards.
