ABOUT THE JOB

Hopper’s Hotel business unit is seeking an experienced and dynamic Engineering Manager to lead our Rates team.
This role offers the thrilling opportunity to be at the core of Hopper’s hotel strategy, developing cutting-edge solutions to measure hotel performance against competitors and creating systems that enable our market managers to secure exclusive hotel rates.
The work of this team will have a significant impact on the direction of the Hotel business at Hopper, setting the course for Hopper’s market managers and shaping their daily activities.
This team will be spearheading how we work with data in Hotels, using data best practices and tools (ex, GCP looker). Having a data background and meticulous attention to detail is of great importance in this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Product Managers to define, build, and own the roadmap that aligns with the business objectives.
  • Oversee the development and delivery of key projects, including performance measurement reports for hotels and a system for creating unique hotel rates.
  • Recruit, mentor, and manage a high-performing engineering team.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the engineering team, ensuring the implementation of best practices and high-quality code standards.
  • Drive the architectural decisions and technical strategy for the Lodging Rates team.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data science, pricing and market management, to ensure alignment and successful project execution.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and opportunities to stakeholders.
