Software Engineering Manager

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Leadership experience, managing a team size of at least 3.
• Hands-on, comfortable working 50% of your time on software development.
• Experience designing and building mid to large-scale, distributed, concurrent, microservices-based systems.
• Experience with both on-prem and cloud-based environments, including AWS, GCP or Azure, containerisation i.e. Docker and Kubernetes.
• At least 10+ years C++ (version 14+).
• 5+ years of Linux.
• Minimum bachelor’s degree educated.

In this role, you will lead a globally distributed team in building a large-scale core system that underpins the entire front office operation of this leading investment management firm. The platform ingests huge amounts of data from multiple internal and external sources, managed through a modern, C++ based system that uses microservices and a high-performance concurrent distributed system.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced leader who enjoys being hands-on, working side-by-side and supporting a highly talented and accomplished team of engineers. Your industry experience is less important than your technical and leadership ability for this role and you will be able to learn about quantitative finance, pricing and investing as you progress.
