Department: The EMEA Electrics and Control Department , located in Ghent -Technology Park, is one of the fastest growing departments and is part of the EMEA Development Center.
The Department is responsible for :
1. Development of controls, embedded software & hardware
2. Cloud and App development
Throughout the development steps we combine “in house” development and strategic cooperation with external partners to enhance our products, keeping them amongst the best in the industry. All Daikin departments have a close collaboration to ensure high quality products for the Daikin EMEA market. Our developments start from the early research and innovation, over design, implementation, testing, till a product that is ready for sales.
As a Software Quality Engineer you’ll be in charge of ensuring the quality for the cloud solutions and related software for different Daikin products ranges, in cooperation with the development team, the quality assurance teams and our suppliers.
Job content
As a Software Quality Engineer within our Software Development Center, you will be in charge of the overall end-to-end test strategy for our cloud solutions.

Your tasks will be:

• In coordination with the different stakeholders (development teams, suppliers, test teams, etc…), create the overall end-to-end test strategy for our cloud solutions.
• Followup and report to the project lead regarding the execution of the test strategy.
• Provide our test teams with the required input to enable the creation of the detailed test plans. Review test plans.
• Followup reported issues, coordinate the necessary actions to enable issues to be closed with the different stakeholders.
• Propose and execute actions to improve the quality assurance process, including promoting and facilitating component level testing at our suppliers.
• Investigate, analyse and propose countermeasures for field quality issues in cooperation with our QA department and the development teams.
• Coordinate field testing for our products.

Profile

• You have a Master Degree in Electronics or IT.
• You are interested in software quality.
• You have more than 5 years of experience within a software development environment. You have at least 2 years of experience with software quality for complex projects, preferably IoT related.
• You have a strong interest or a proven track record in subjects like: Internet of Things, machine to machine communication, App/web development …
• You are a team player, capable of negotiating and reaching consensus.
• You have an innovative mindset.
