We’re looking for an exceptional and multi-talented Software Specialist - Mobile (Android) to help support and modernise our mobile platform, enabling our mobile squads to deliver unbeatable digital experiences that our customers love.

Ō PŪKENGA | ABOUT YOU

You bring a passion for software engineering as well as a passion for learning a range of engineering disciplines such as Mobile, Integration, Test Automation, etc. Essentially, we are looking for people who are keen to get involved in the whole software development life cycle and who proactively share their knowledge and skills. Furthermore you are curious about “how things work” and you have a deep understanding of the frameworks and tools that you use.
You are passionate about Mobile development, with experience in the following areas:

Android App Development and DevOps

• Java
• Kotlin
• Jetpack Compose
• Dagger/Hilt
• Retrofit
• JUnit and Espresso (Unit Testing and UI Testing)
• Git and GitFlow
• Pipelines
• MVVM architecture experience
• Agile Software Development
• Technical Leadership

Nice to Haves:

• Back end/server-side development experience

You will be part of one of our Mobile Platform squads that are responsible for ensuring our Android apps follow Google best practices and target the most up to date libraries and frameworks. You will also support our delivery squads as we move towards our target architectures, providing guidance on modularisation strategies etc. As a Software Specialist - Mobile (Android), you will provide technical leadership, mentoring, and coaching to other Digital Tribe members, contributing to the growth of the overall software engineering team capability and competence.
