There’s an opening at Emerson for a Software Test Engineer. We’re seeking an experienced individual contributor that will work closely with the E&D Engineering team. Focus and work will be on new product development and product maintenance ensuring that our software releases maintain the right quality for customer expectations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU APART:

• Proven track record in testing and test methods and proven field competencies within testing and software.
• Strong focus on quality and knows what quality look like.

IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE:

• Testing and Quality Assurance : Entail developing and refining procedures and methods to test and qualify functional product requirements. This role requires a track record in improving testing methods and maintaining high quality standards.
• Software Development : Build automated test scripts for units and systems and perform test qualifications to verify functionality. A deep understanding of software testing, including algorithms and embedded systems, is essential.
• Risk Management : Serve as a guide in evaluating project-related risks, timelines, and challenges. Ability to undertake analysis and investigation to tackle varying but related issues is required.
• Best Practices and Tools Innovation : Give input and suggest improvements to the company’s standard methodologies and tools. Experience in streamlining processes and contributing innovative ideas will be advantageous.
• Team Support & Mentorship: Engage as a resource vested in the growth of the engineering team by providing vital support and mentorship. This position calls for strong interpersonal and team leadership skills.

• Ability to gain solid understanding of our core technologies and to lead test efforts and direct work on test activities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to make engineering decisions and judgements.
• Functional and technical knowledge and skills to do the job at a high level of accomplishment; ability to work and perform in a multidisciplinary engineering team, analytical, structured, thorough, committed, dedicated and proactive.
• Proficient in verbal and written English.
