Description:
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Parramatta CBD location with 1 day per week work from home
- Immediate start 6 months’ initial contract with possible opportunities thereafter
- $70 - $90 per hour + super ($560 - $720 per day)

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Provide clear, concise legal advice across a range of legislation administered by the Organisation ,including legislative interpretation and review, the conduct of legislative projects, and administrative law
- Analyse and interpret legislation; draft documents including advice, submissions and other legal documentation, briefing notes and correspondence
- Prepare advice, briefing counsel where appropriate to ensure the to ensure the achievement of business objectives
- Identify and report on emerging and significant legal issues that may impact the business or present reputational risk to the business and provide appropriate solutions for resolution of those matters to proactively and timely minimise risk and maximise opportunity.
- Work with clients and other key stakeholders on a range of legislative projects and requests for advice to exchange information, complete tasks and meet deadlines providing advice that supports the organisation
- Develop and provide guidance or training material to the business to facilitate capability uplift of lawyers and customers
- Undertake research, analysis, and projects to recommend and develop solutions to complex legal matters to inform decision making and improve stakeholder outcomes.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Admission as a legal practitioner of the Supreme Court of NSW
- Holds a current unrestricted practising certificate
Responsibilities:
Working within the Corporate Services/Legal Branch the Solicitor provides independent, professional legal advice and services in all aspects of government law including administrative law, litigation and /or prosecutions. The Solicitor has autonomy and makes decisions that are under their direct control as directed by their Executive – and is fully accountable for the delivery of work assignments on time and to expectations in terms of quality, deliverables and outcomes.
