Role: Solicitor Private Client
Place of work: Glasgow City Centre
Contract type: Full time, Permanent
Working Hours: Monday Friday, 9am 5pm (35 hours per week)

As a Solicitor in our Private Client Team, you will play a crucial role in providing personalised estate planning services to new and existing clients. Meeting clients, understanding their situations providing tailored estate planning advice followed by drafting and issuing the correct legal deeds (Wills, Powers of Attorney, Testamentary Trust Plans, and Family Protection Trusts) will be at the heart of this role.
Experience working directly with clients is essential.
The ideal candidate should ideally also have Inheritance Tax (IHT) experience, although this is not compulsory and can be a skill we help you to advance.
You will have regular communication with clients face-to-face, over the phone and through email. You will maintain contact with them throughout the process to ensure our clients receive an excellent and efficient service.
You will be responsible for meeting sales and fees targets, delivering exceptional client service, managing shared support staff resource, and developing relationships with partners and affiliates such as charities, financial advisors, and other solicitors in order to generate business.

Your Key Responsibilities will be to:
- Conduct in-depth consultations with clients to understand their unique needs, provide expert advice, and gather instructions for the preparation of Wills, Powers of Attorney, Testamentary Trust Plans, and Family Protection Trusts
- Prepare accurate and legally sound documents based on client instructions, ensuring compliance
- Cultivate strong one-to-one relationships with clients, providing ongoing support and guidance throughout the estate planning process, meeting a monthly customer review target
- Meet monthly fee targets effectively pricing and selling estate planning services to clients.
- Proactively develop and nurture relationships with Charities, Financial Advisors, and other strategic partners to generate new business opportunities
- Supervise and utilise the skills of support staff within the team, ensuring tasks are delegated and performance managed efficiently and deadlines are met
- Stay abreast of changes in estate planning laws and regulations, ensuring all documents and processes adhere to the latest legal standards
- Attend relevant industry events, conferences, and networking functions to expand the firm’s presence and build connections within the community
- Provide regular reports on sales performance, fees generated, and business development activities to senior management
The successful candidate will:
- Be a qualified solicitor with experience in a Private Client Team, with specific skills / interest in estate planning
- Have strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport with clients and partners
- Have proven experience in meeting and exceeding sales targets, with a strategic approach to selling estate planning services
- Be able to demonstrate the ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with charities, financial advisors, and other partners to generate new business
- Have excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage a high volume of client instructions and business development activities
- Take a collaborative approach with the ability to work effectively in a team
- Have the ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment
- Be computer literate, proficient in MS Office, Microsoft Teams and case management systems
