Description:
QUALIFICATIONS:
University Degree (with Honours) in Planning, Geography, Environmental Science or Engineering
EXPERIENCE:
Three to four years’ related experience
SKILLS AND ABILITIES IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS ARE NECESSARY:
Demonstrated proficiency in wordprocessing, spreadsheets and various software.
Valid driver’s license- Class G.
Working knowledge of the municipal waste management, health and safety regulations and construction practices
Responsibilities:
Reports to the Waste Diversion Coordinator, Manager- Solid Waste Engineering and Division Manager, Solid Waste Management. Undertakes research on waste management issues including collecting and synthesizing information, data manipulation and analysis; exercises problem solving skills, prepares advice and formulates recommendations/ solutions; prepares reports; manages contracts for construction/remediation projects at closed landfills and other waste management facilities.
