Title: Manager - Solution Architecture

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree, its equivalent degree, or commensurate professional experience.
  • Minimum of 6-years of professional experience, including delivery experience covering planning and mobilization.
  • Experience with systems implementation in one or more of the following property & casualty insurance software products: Policy, Billing, Claims, Reinsurance, and/or Data & Analytics.
  • Experience with implementation of Duck Creek Example Platform solutions for Policy Administration and/or Billing is a plus.

Specialized Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities:

  • Solution experience covering estimating, configuration, costing, sourcing and participation in a sales process (RFI/RFP, Workshops, SOW creation, etc.)
  • Property & Casualty Policy Administration experience.
  • Experience/knowledge of software development life cycle for P&C insurance software.
  • Deep understanding of the property& casualty insurance business,.
  • Value proposition and business case development.
  • Understanding of Software as a service (SaaS) and the ability to articulate its benefits to potential customers or existing customers looking to migrate from Duck Creek’s On-premises software to SaaS.
  • Travel: up to 25-50%, mostly within the Asia/Pacific region.
  • Work Authorization: Legally authorized to work in the country of the job location. Ability to obtain periodic travel permission to other countries required.
  • Geographical Requirements: Solution Architect would occasionally need to work with colleagues in Europe or the United States when specialized knowledge is required for a solution. Would be expected to attend about 1 remote meeting per month with other Solution Architects worldwide. These types of meetings may require occasional work during non-Australian work hours. Would be expected to participate in Sydney office functions, market events, client meetings, and other functions. Remote work is possible when office-based functions are not occuring.

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Understands and translates buyer requirements into a solution plan, proposal, and cost estimate leveraging standard process methods, deliverables and the right collection of offerings.
  • Drives the necessary sign-off of the proposed solution. This requires articulating client business objectives, solution risks, budget and preferences. This also requires balancing potentially competing priorities between stakeholders, determining acceptable levels of project risk for Duck Creek and the customer, and ensuring compliance with Duck Creek’s standards and best practices.
  • Manages the handoff of the client-chosen solution, its assumptions, and known risks and mitigating factors to the services organization or implementation partners.
  • Reviews and supports implementation partner-led services proposals.
  • Escalates questions and requests for subject matter expertise to colleagues around the world.
  • Prepares the estimate, schedule, work plan, resource/sourcing plan.
  • Understands and clearly defines the input required to create cost estimates; Prepares the cost model estimates, focusing on the services and ancillary costs of an implementation.
  • Collaborates as a key member of the sales team to represent the solution offering to the client buyer and other internal Duck Creek groups.
  • Participate in market-building activities with existing and potential customers and implementation partners.
  • Maintain a knowledge of trends and buyer-values in the Australia and broader Asia-Pacific region.
