Description:

The role: Reporting to the Practice Manager Service Delivery Design, Clinical Program, we currently have an opportunity for an experienced Solution Architect to work on a variety of Queensland Health solutions. It will be your responsibility to produce high quality, cost effective and sustainable architectures and designs for enterprise ICT solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain business, information and technical architectures and designs for the enterprise ICT portfolio in accordance with best practice and that comply with appropriate Queensland Health and whole of Government standards.
  • Perform architectural reviews of business cases, implementation strategy and solution Architecture specifications for ICT projects to ensure that solutions are consistent with Queensland Health ICT Strategy, architectural standards, principles and roadmaps.
  • Translate business needs for ICT systems into coherent and effective technical options to deliver detailed design specifications aligned with business requirements.
  • Contribute to and deliver ICT change management and Service Level Management artefacts to ensure risks are mitigated and solutions are supportable.
  • Partner with key stakeholders and external suppliers/vendors developing strategic working relationships to ensure solutions are aligned to Queensland Health Enterprise Architecture and Information Management business requirements.
  • Develop cost estimates for solutions architectures and designs to feed into team quotes, project budgets and business cases.
  • Contribute in the development of strategic project plans and schedules, including the identification of project risks, issues and appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Identify solutions architecture resource requirements according to project schedules and ICT deliverables to meet project milestones.
  • Build and maintain relationships within the health and information industries to understand promote and share solutions architecture and design practices for the benefit of the Clinical Program, ICT portfolio, Queensland Health and other government agencies.

A pragmatic and analytical approach to tasks is essential for understanding client requirements, collecting data, delivering analysis and problem resolution.
    We are also seeking candidates with well-developed communication skills and a customer service mentality. You will be comfortable building relationships, consulting, and negotiating to fully address client needs, and translate this into a comprehensive and efficient business solution.
    Additionally, you will be adept at presenting technical ideas and concepts to a range of stakeholders.
