  • Dynamic Cybersecurity Solution Architect (with Public Cloud experience) position available, Full-time permanent position. Based at the Melbourne CBD campus (Hybrid role), and Flexible Working Arrangements
  • Ability to work at varying levels of detail, from strategic, high-level component/logical architecture to low level detail design
  • Collaborates across ITS and other stakeholders to identify, plan, and deliver Architecture work and demand across the portfolio

About the Portfolio
The Operations Portfolio enables an integrated, enterprise wide delivery for best practice student and staff experiences.
The Portfolio incorporates the following business units: Enterprise Projects and Business Performance (EPBP), Communications, People, Information and Technology Services (ITS), Office of the Chief Operating Officer, Procurement and Vietnam Operations.
The Portfolio houses significant drivers and delivery components across the staff and student journeys and enables the overall experience for both groups. The Portfolio is integral in bringing the RMIT strategy to life, across the globe. Each of these functions supports the global operations of the University both directly as well as through its controlled entities.
The Information Technology Services (ITS) function, provides RMIT University with current and emerging Technology systems and services. The Role
The Cybersecurity Solution Architect is a key member of the Architecture & Solutions team, responsible for the development of end-to-end Cybersecurity and Identity and Access Management (IdAM) solutions from conceptual through to detailed designs. This role leads, prioritises and develops detailed Cybersecurity and IdAM designs for RMIT University, collaborating with IT Services groups as well as with business and IT leaders.
The Cybersecurity Solution Architect will work closely with the Enterprise Architects and other key members across the University to develop, maintain a range of Cybersecurity and IdAM architecture artefacts, including Logical and Physical Solution Designs, Patterns, Standards, Detailed Designs, whilst providing inputs to roadmaps and technology/platform strategies.
The Cybersecurity Solution Architect will bring to RMIT a pragmatic, modern and connected approach to collaborate and engage stakeholders across the organisation, ensuring that Cybersecurity and IdAM architecture protects the University from current and emerging Cybersecurity threats, prepares RMIT for future IT capabilities and further progresses RMIT’s strategic goals. The Cybersecurity Solution Architect ensures that solutions are implemented as designed and will be a key member of the Architecture Working Group.

Skills & Experience

  • Ten+ years in working in Cybersecurity and IdAM.
  • Three+ years working in Cybersecurity and IdAM design.
  • Extensive knowledge of Cybersecurity and IdAM strategies, frameworks, processes and solutions.
  • Assisting the Enterprise Architecture Team with the maintenance of Cybersecurity and IdAM artefacts in RMIT’s Enterprise Architecture repository (Essential Cloud), including: Cybersecurity and IdAM Reference (Capability) Models and Technical Reference Models and Cybersecurity and IdAM Roadmaps.
  • Providing thought leadership for the Architecture and Solutions Team in the areas of Cybersecurity and IdAM.
  • Developing Cybersecurity and IdAM Architecture Guardrails.
  • Developing Cybersecurity and IdAM detailed designs and related artefacts.
  • Highly collaborative and supportive of business and of its ideas and strategies. Comfortable, experienced, and accomplished at working with various stakeholders.
  • Exposure to multiple, diverse Cybersecurity and IdAM technologies, platforms and environments.
  • Practical in approach to decision making and problem solving that is principle-based.
  • Familiarity with data privacy laws and compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of current and emerging Cybersecurity threats and countermeasures.
  • Good understanding of Cybersecurity and IdAM capabilities and products. Ability to work at varying levels of detail, from high level component/logical architecture to low level detail design.
