Description:

MAIDENHEAD, ENGLAND

Glencore Copper is seeking a Solution Architect to support the growth and development of our Copper Portfolio to be based at our Maidenhead office in England. This role will support our projects and current operations globally.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • university degree in computer science, computer engineering or related field
  • 10+ years’ expert knowledge of SAP S/4 HANA and cross-functional integration points with SAP suite of products
  • deep experience evaluating and advising on technology options and development of systems landscape architecture

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • knowledge of BTP, including CPI, Fiori, analytics (BI)
  • knowledge of SAP AIF
  • knowledge of SOAP/ODATA (RESTful) APIs
  • experience with DevOps, microservices, middleware
  • exposure to ABAP/ABAP OO
  • understanding of security, identity, access control methods and compliance standards, including SAP GRC
  • experience with PaaS development
  • understanding of PBI, SQL Azure
  • familiar with workflow concepts
  • experience delivering software upgrades: technical aspects
  • global, cross-cultural work experience

Responsibilities:

  • devise, implement and maintain an organization-wide systems landscape roadmap to deliver high availability, scalability, sustainability and cost-effectiveness
  • examine the current information systems environment to detect opportunities and recommend solutions for improvement
  • work collaboratively with Information Systems, Operational Technology, Data, Reporting and project teams to establish design of scalable and adaptable architecture to address growth and evolving business needs
  • work as key member of the IS solution architecture team to ensure alignment of functional solutions with technologies
  • assess and deliver application upgrades and patches
  • verify failover and disaster recovery systems are in place and tested, working in partnership with Group IT and vendors to ensure business continuity for Glencore Copper
  • work with InfoSec team to verify adherence to cloud assurance standards for all cloud applications
  • verify cyberattack risk mitigation in place for Copper and work as key representative of Cloud Access Security team
  • operate as primary point of contact for all decisions related to addition, upgrade or decommissioning of software and related services in the portfolio
  • support the development of business cases to frame, evaluate and select applications in cooperation with operational technology team and the IS steering committee
  • identify internal resource skills in place to support all technical software and services
  • supplement internal technical skills thru engagement of external parties in collaboration with Support Manager and Technical Lead
  • define development standards with Technical Lead guide reporting team, support development of reporting strategy, standards and policies
