The Opportunity
Play a key role in the delivery of IT solutions, by designing solutions that achieve business outcomes in a cost-effective way, while meeting Enterprise architecture, regulatory, security and performance requirements.
What you’ll be doing day-to-day
Platform planning and management.
- Embedded within a cross functional team, Solution architects develop a deep understanding of required business outcomes, and documents the technical solutions required to deliver them.
- Determine how solutions can be thinly sliced, to support rapid and iterative delivery that realises value in advance of a full-scale deployment.
- Identify solution options to inform trade-off conversations on balancing delivery speed, levels of automation, re-use, technical debt, and cost.
- Identify and escalate architecture decisions that require input from Enterprise architecture.
- Work with technical architects to size solutions.
- Have a clear understanding of Vocus strategy, and the implication for platform roadmaps.
- Identify where prototypes are required to validate user experience or complex technical requirements.
Maintain ways of working consistent with Vocus standards.
- Build and maintain relationships with external and internal stakeholders.
- Support continuous improvement of the System of Work by raising improvement opportunities.
- Deep understanding of how data is used within business processes and its impact on desired business process outcomes.
What you’ll bring to this role
- Minimum 15years commercial IT experience with 10 Years demonstrated experience as a solution architect.
- 3 Years demonstrated experience in the Telecommunications sector and / or an agile solutioning environment.
- Excellent with business analysis processes and ability to work closely with senior business stakeholders.
- Outstanding commitment to customer service and internal and external customer experience.
- Ability to ensure consistency of standards/procedures and promote efficiencies.
- Well-developed relationship building skills.
- Able to work and deliver to committed timeframes.
- Strong leadership characteristics.
- Negotiation, conflict management skills.
- Experience working with Jira, Confluence, Gitlab and Microsoft office products.
