Description:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology or related field.
  • 8+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with Salesforce.com Sales, Service, Marketing, and Community Cloud.
  • 5+ years of experience with other commercial technologies such as CLM, CPQ, digital commerce, and omni-channel
  • Proven experience as a Solution Architect, involving requirements gathering, solution and option analysis, and providing comprehensive recommendations.
  • Strong knowledge of business architecture frameworks and commercial technology solutions.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to convert complex business needs into technical solutions.
  • Experience in large and complex enterprise project environments.
  • Proven experience in regulated environments with quality systems, demonstrating strong documentation skills.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Boston Scientific is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Solution Architect to join the Commercial IT team. This role requires a unique blend of communication skills, expertise in commercial technologies (Sales, Marketing, Medical Education, Training, etc.), and architectural proficiency. The Solution Architect will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between business needs and technology solutions, with a strong focus on user experiences.
The successful candidate will possess a strategic mindset, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and business analysis skills. They will also demonstrate technical proficiency, competence in UX design principles, and strong problem-solving abilities to evaluate complex systems and processes. The candidate should be able to identify areas for improvement and propose effective, innovative solutions using commercial technologies.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the solution space (both internally and externally), including business processes, capabilities, and systems for commercial functions.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the business, including processes, people, and technology stack. Leverage this knowledge to drive business value in each program engagement.
  • Conduct research to gather insights and identify user needs, pain points, and opportunities.
  • Participate in the new demand process for potential engagement opportunities as a solutions expert.
  • Act as a representative for the business in major enterprise programs. Ensure thoughtful end-to-end designs, delivery, and quality.
  • Establish clear roles and responsibilities for this function and engagement model.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and document business requirements, ensuring alignment with user research findings.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement solutions that leverage commercial technologies to solve business challenges, improve processes, and enhance operational efficiency. This includes re-use, build, or buy analysis.
  • Create the overall technical vision for specific business solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional IT and business teams to ensure alignment.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of business architecture, research findings, design artifacts, and solution specifications.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.
