FLEETCOR is currently looking to hire a Solutions Architect within our CORPAY division. This position falls under our CORPAY Cross Border line of business and is located in Canada.

Essential Abilities and Attributes

  • Solid understanding of software design principles with demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of industry trends and relevant technologies and security practices
  • Dedicated to quality and customer satisfaction, persistent drive towards achieving project goals
  • Interpersonal skills that demonstrate collaboration, facilitation, influencing and negotiating
  • Understanding of Rest APIs, integrations, and distributed computing models.
  • Understanding of data streaming and messaging technologies like Kafka and RabbitMQ
  • Break down tasks to meet deadlines and business goals.
  • Ability to apply your experience to new and evolving environments.
  • Possess a broad understanding of technology and financial service’s business operations and can provide technical requirements to business opportunities

Qualifications & Skills

  • 5+ years’ experience in software system architecture
  • 7+ years’ experience in software engineering
  • Expertise in strongly typed compiled languages such as C#, Java, Go, Rust
  • Expertise in front-end development
  • Advanced knowledge of relational and non-relational databases
  • Experience in financial industry, payments, foreign exchange, fintech is a plus
  • Experience with event and message-based systems
  • Experience working across verticals within and outside the organization
  • Knowledge of Docker and using containers in the deployment lifecycle is a plus
  • B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experienc

Responsibilities:

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Playing an integral part of the velocity, reliability, and scalability of Corpay systems and software development projects.
  • Establishing collaboration and communication between leaders, architects, developers to clear ambiguity and drive technology decisions.
  • Owning vital relationships both up and downstream of the software development teams to ensure delivery.
  • Analyzing current and future technologies used within the company to determine the ways and means to deliver products and services correctly and safely.
  • Formulating and documenting a comprehensive technical roadmap that aligns with the organization’s objectives and long-term strategy.
  • Building and maintaining robust and scalable code to support innovative features.
  • Making high-level design choices and frame technical standards.
  • Guiding and coordinating software and system’s engineers on technical designs.
  • Designing and documenting software and system-level requirements for product-based systems on both on-prem and cloud infrastructures.
  • Ensuring systems designs meets the initial and progressing business requirements.
  • Assessing risks, anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation, and drive outcomes.
  • Planning and for future scalability and obsoleting of older technologies.
