ABOUT THE ROLE.

As the Solutions Architect for PA Betting Services, you will be responsible for turning business ideas into workable and implementable solutions. This will involve close collaboration with the product management team and business stakeholders to assess if ideas are feasible, cost effective and implementable.
You will be the bridge between the product team and the delivery squad, guiding the squad to implement your solutions. You will be responsible for ensuring any non-technical requirements are understood by technical colleagues and vice versa.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES.

• Collaborate with Product Managers and key Business stakeholders to provide technical guidance for business opportunities and product development.
• Be acutely aware of the commercial drivers for Products and the necessity to deliver business value in a suitable timeframe.
• Turn successful ideas into a deliverable solution by requirement gathering, analysis, prototyping and creating documentation.
• Assist the delivery squad who will implement your solutions, working collaboratively to refine the solutions into deliverable work items and help them understand the outcome they need to deliver.
• Stay abreast of the latest trends and best practices within the technology and software development sector and assess how they relate to your role and the business area.
• Be a member of PA Media’s Solutions Architect team where you will share concepts, practices, and patterns that you and your business area are working with.
• Collaborate with IT Operations including DevOps Engineers, SREs and the Operational Infrastructure Architect to ensure Product solutions are transitioned into operation.

To excel in this role you’ll need:

• Experience in similar architecture roles or creating software solutions.
• Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences and connect with a variety of stakeholders.
• Understanding of Object-Oriented and/or Functional Programming.
• Knowledge of design patterns like Microservice/Event-driven architectures.
• Familiarity with building performant, scalable, and secure platforms.
• Deep understanding of web technologies and protocols, including Web APIs.
• Experience with different types of databases and cloud ecosystems like AWS or Azure.
• Proficiency in containerization technologies like Docker.
• Understanding of Agile principles and a commitment to personal development
