Job Description
The Operations Emerging Technologies team delivers innovative technical solutions using a mix of existing and new technologies to solve real world problems with clear and compelling value stories. We follow agile approaches and are focused on making an impact for our business partners and for our patients.
Our remit is all of Operations, and our use cases span Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and late stage RnD through commercialization business processes.
We bring together cross-functional teams and work on the frontiers of business process and technology. Historically, we have delivered solutions drawing on a blend of technologies and capabilities including service bus and event driven model integrations, advanced analytics, AI/ML, GenAI, AR/VR, and traditional stack offerings such as MES, ERP, LIMS, PowerApps, and RPA.
In the role of Solution Delivery Engineer you will develop and hone your business and technical skills within a diverse, global organization that invests in your customized career development. You will power forward our strategic digital transformation projects such as Factory of the Future and in the process become a recognized expert in your domain.

Responsibilities:

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Understanding and documenting the problem statement in detail sufficient for solution exploration and shaping
  • Identifying potential solutions and structuring a formal evaluation process to select the optimal technology and project approach
  • Owning the solution design, development, and testing through MVP delivery to the customer
  • Understanding and supporting the value capture of solutions (financial, intangibles)
  • Supporting the solution through troubleshooting, problem management, enhancements, and user adoption
  • Owning the technical and capability roadmap for one or more technologies
  • Design and execute technical delivery tasks on established solutions. Examples include delivering additional features, implementing enhancements, etc. Estimated time 40%
  • Deliver on new use case opportunities through effective execution of the entire or significant components of the SLC process. Examples include converting a backlog opportunity into a concrete solution in the hands of users. Estimated time 25%
  • Contribute to the opportunity backlog and develop associated business cases through assessments, workshops, customer visits, and industry scouting. Estimated time 15%
  • Improve and champion CI activities to improve team throughput and effectiveness. Estimated time 10%
  • Stay current on technology landscape, and learn our business, technology stack, portfolio, and core delivery skills such as financial management, project estimation, etc. Estimated time 10%
    Qualifications

EXPERIENCES THAT MAKE YOU A STRONG FIT FOR THIS ROLE:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree plus 2 years of related experience; or 6 years of IT-related work experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work on complex problems independently
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience developing in higher-level programming languages such as C#/.NET, Python, JavaScript, or others
  • Experience working with databases, writing medium to complex queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers
  • Ability to understand PLC logic and programming
