Description:

As a Solutions Engineer Chemical, you design, calculate and implement solution engineering projects of all sizes (footprint/revenue) with up to medium complexity within an international logistics environment, supporting our chemical business and contract renewals for our contract logistics vertical. The purpose is to create a solution according to the requirements of the customer sent by RFI/RFQ or other requests. In this role, you are responsible for the RFQ tender phase including process design, headcount calculation, layout, costing & pricing, input for customer presentations and coordinating internal stakeholders.

YOUR KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Economics, (Industrial) Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or related field;
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in a similar position within contract logistics;
  • Experience within the chemical industry and (storage & transportation of) Hazardous Chemicals & Dangerous Goods are a must;
  • Good understanding and high affinity for numbers and mathematics;
  • Excellent communication skills with professional working proficiency in both the English and German language (C2-level or bilingual);
  • Advanced MS Office skills: Excel (VBA is a plus), PowerPoint and Word. Proficiency with CAD programs and Warehouse Management Systems is a plus;
  • Good level of analytical thinking and problem solving skills by working collaboratively on team projects with internal stakeholders (i.e. Finance, IT, HR, Legal, Operations, Procurement, QEHS and Security) and external stakeholders (customers, integrators and suppliers), and throughout all management levels;
  • Structured way or working with the ability to manage a variety of projects while keeping track of timelines and budget;
  • Based and authorized to work in Germany is required (this position is not eligible for relocation), the possession of a valid driver’s license and car is strongly desired;
  • Ability to work remote with the willingness and flexibility to occasionally travel to our customers and sites in the region.
