As a Solutions Engineering Manager at Cloudera, you will lead a team of highly skilled Solutions Engineers across Central EMEA.
You will be responsible for our technical solution selling, working closely with our existing customers, prospects, partners, and internal stakeholders to ensure the technical win and successful adoption of Cloudera’s products.
As part of this, you will utilize your technical acumen, business competencies, and customer service orientation to provide the highest level of consultation to the sales teams to support the regional sales goals.
Preferred location is Germany.
About Yourself:
- You have experience building, leading and managing teams

- You are experienced with the concepts, principles and application of the following:
- Enterprise Software and Big Data technologies and their rapid evolution over the years
- The major cloud service providers (AWS, Azure and GCP) and certified in one or more
- Familiar with the challenges in Operations, Security and Data Governance within enterprises
- Architectural and design patterns such as Data Lakehouse, Data Fabric and Data Mesh
- Enterprise AI
- You are on good terms with Infrastructure (Hardware, Storage, Network), and have familiarity with scala/python, and SQL
- You have an interest in real-time Streaming and understand the difference between Data Engineering and Data Science
- You’re passionate about what you’re doing and inspire people around you
- 5+ years as a Solution Engineer (SE) with at least 2+ years of experience managing an SE team at a cloud, data analytics or ML/AI company
You are fluent in English and German; a bonus if you know another Eastern European languages
Your Deliverables:
Manage and lead a team of world class SE’s
- Become intimately acquainted with customers’ business requirements, technical needs, systems, environment and service history within your region, enabling you to manage the presentation of your team’s targeted business solutions
- Present our vision and roadmap and thought leadership to the C-suite at our largest Strategic and Fortune Global 500 companies
- Manage and support the sales engineering team through direct client interaction
- Develop operating mechanisms to make team operation predictable and scalable
- Manage RFI/RFP requests and contracting processes, and establish SLAs to drive rapid cycle times and maximum opportunity conversion
- Work with sales colleagues in the development of account plans for large customers
- Glue together Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Engineering and Support, so our customers hear one Cloudera voice
- Liaise with the Regional Sales Directors on a regular basis and provide input on the forecast plan
- Advocating the needs of your team’s customers to Product Management and Engineering to evolve our offerings
- A share of evangelism activities (Cloudera Community Connection, blogs, meetups, industry events)
