Band 7 Sonographer Brecon and Llandrindod Wells
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Sonographer to join our Radiology Team in Powys. We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and dynamic individual who will help us continually develop our practice and move the service forward. This is a Radiography appointment. The prime role is to carry out general and specialised Ultrasound procedures within several community hospitals within a defined scope of practice.
Undertake independent reporting on designated examinations and maintain patient records.
Undertake Ultrasound investigation on patients using the referral form and clinical condition as a basis for assessing procedure required.
Manage your own sonographer worklist and undertake independent reporting on ultrasound examinations where appropriate.
Organise own workload and prioritise procedures where and when necessary.
Work without supervision and observe all aspects of the Code of Conduct for Radiographers.
This post is advertised as a Band 7 however applicants who do not currently hold all the necessary competencies to a Band 7 level are encouraged to apply and, if successful, will be appointed under Annex 21 rules whereby 75% of the top of Band 7 will be payable during the first 12 months or until band 7 competencies have been completed.
Responsibilities:
Have advanced clinical judgement to enable independent effective decision-making.
To undertake, interpret and take responsibility for ultrasound examinations performed.
To formulate, issue and be accountable for accurate clinical reports ensuring the findings are reported and acted upon.
Proactively support and participate with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure an effective, efficient delivery of service in order to maintain departmental standards.
To plan, assess, deliver and evaluate personal workload in liaison with line manager and clinical governance lead.
The post holder will assist with and encourage service development and innovation
To maintain good and effective professional practices.
Ensure consistent application and compliance of policies and standards.
The post holder is required to maintain accurate, contemporaneous records in line with Trust and HCPC/BMUS/RCR/NICE guidelines and policies.
You will be dynamic, highly self-motivated, organised and an excellent communicator.
