JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Develop and execute the company’s sourcing strategy for specific categories in coordination with the Sourcing Director.
• Drive sourcing efforts to support strategic goals, global balance, and financial targets for Meijer.
• Collaborate with suppliers to deliver high-quality, trendy products at great value for customers.
• Build a reliable supplier network and explore alternative solutions to meet business goals.
• Recommend and onboard new suppliers/factories, focusing on continuous process improvement.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Meijer Merchants and Product Development, to bring new products to market.
• Focus on reducing lead times and speeding up the supply chain to ensure Meijer is ahead of the competition.
• Use negotiation skills and cost expertise to maintain quality and cost efficiency, maximizing profitability.
• Manage multiple product categories efficiently.
• Handle additional tasks or projects as needed.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Previous experience in a large US Sourcing/Buying office preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
• 10+ years of relevant merchandising experience, ideally in a buying office.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with a collaborative approach.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively while meeting deadlines.
• Strong analytical and financial skills.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Passionate about fashion and customer satisfaction.
• Effective negotiation and communication abilities.
• Proactive and dynamic with strong interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to travel as required.
