Sourcing Manager

Strategic Sourcing plays a crucial role in both product and non-product-related sourcing and category management. Our goal is to develop and maintain a stable and competitive supply base that supports Vanderlande’s projects, services, and ambitious growth. You’ll be working closely with our teams in R&D, Engineering, Quality, Service, Projects, and other Supply Chain departments in China and the Netherlands, fostering strong collaborations and ensuring we deliver top-notch results.
Your Position
We are seeking a versatile leader to oversee our strategic procurement activities. As a (Senior) Sourcing Manager, you will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and manage the supply base to effectively meet business demands in Australia and New Zealand.
This role demands strong leadership, strategic thinking, and effective communication skills to ensure successful outcomes across multiple functions within the organization. You will be integral to projects in the Warehousing, Parcel and Airport markets.

Your Responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing category strategies, such as Steelwork & Platforms, Racking Systems, and Mechanical & Electrical Installation, within the construction labour market.
  • Conducting market analysis to identify potential new suppliers and managing supplier relationships through regular Business Review Meetings.
  • Establishing and maintaining Framework Agreements and other supplier agreements, including negotiating commercial conditions.
  • Procurement for the large projects and complex categories,
  • Supporting the Sales team as a Procurement Bid Leader during critical project bids.
  • Coordinating seamless collaboration among stakeholders within the supply chain to develop comprehensive supply plans and ensure accurate cost estimations for equipment purchases.
  • Aligning with and managing the supply base in Australia to meet business demands effectively, while also mitigating risks associated with high-value or complex projects.
  • Serving as an escalation point to the Project Buy / Procurement Project Manager team.

About You

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s, Degree in a technical field, Business Administration, Procurement, or Supply Chain Management (or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in Procurement or Supply Chain roles.
  • Experience in strategic purchasing/category management within the Australian market of construction and steelworks is preferred.
  • Strong organizational abilities, skilled at multitasking and paying attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of communicating effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Collaborative mindset, promoting teamwork and fostering relationships across functions.
  • Effective time management skills, able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in fast-paced environments.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, proactive in driving actions and initiatives.
  • Ownership, willing to seek answers and hold stakeholders accountable for results.
  • Extensive experience in contract management and handling escalations.
  • Hands-on experience in costing activities, utilizing cost estimation programs.
  • Willingness to travel, up to 30%.
