Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

We’re looking to grow our supply chain team. In this newly created sourcing specialist position, you will play an integral role by setting up industry best practices, driving efficiencies by developing and establishing our supplier base, sourcing strategy, material planning, purchase order management, and supplier management systems.
This role will give you the ideal opportunity to contribute to all things supply chain at Basis. While your primary focus will be sourcing and purchasing, you will have the chance to contribute and shape up our material planning and supplier quality management.

Some of the things that you might be involved in include:

  • Developing and implementing sourcing strategies that meet and support cross-functional team requirements
  • Actively participating and supporting new product introduction with sourcing at each stage of product development
  • Initiating, leading and implementing cost-down initiatives
  • Preparing RFX and negotiating contracts
  • Developing and implementing best purchase order life cycle management practices
  • Monitoring the status of deliveries and proactively communicating any schedule changes to internal stakeholders
  • Anticipating new supplier needs and qualifying them
  • Developing long standing relationships with key suppliers
  • Conducting supplier assessments and on site audits, and completing supplier performance reporting and monitoring
  • Participating in developing, testing, piloting and implementing supply chain systems and tools as required

Please note; this role will require international travel to our manufacturing partners and travel between our offices depending on where the successful candidate is based.

We think you’ll be a fit for this role if you have the following skills/or traits:

  • 5+ Years experience in sourcing, planning or purchasing in electronics manufacturing or a similar industry
  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field (such as Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering)
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings & Bill of Materials (BOM)
  • Experience with material requirement planning (MRP) & enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
  • Proven experience in creating and implementing supply chain process related to sourcing, purchasing, planning, and supplier management
  • Strong organisation skills and an eye for detail - you’ll be juggling a number of things at once
  • An ability to take initiative, follow through on what you say you’ll do, and own your mistakes
  • Clear, candid and concise communication skills - both written and verbal, but also an ability to be kind and compassionate when dealing with other
