Responsibilities:

THE ROLE…

The kitchen team consists of Chefs on all levels and Stewards, Stewarding Supervisor and a Stewarding Manager, who report into the Kitchen Management Team. In this position you are responsible for the implementation and follow up of general HACCP standards as well as Health & Safety Regulations for your areas as well as integrating company specific guidelines on the topics. Company standards have to be adhered to and delivered to the rest of the team accordingly.
An essential part of the job is being available on a flexible rota and being willing to work outside “office hours”. For example, nights, weekends and holidays (as needed and when applicable and as per previously communicated rota).

P&D RESPONSIBILITIES…

  • Assist the Head Chef in safeguarding the efficient rota scheduling of all employees, applying working hour laws as per German legislation – making sure all hours are entered in applicable People & Development systems as per according guidelines
  • Ensure the management of annual leave across the Kitchen team to take their entitlement within the calendar year, in line with guidelines of the Head Chef
  • Identify recruitment needs in line with company and statutory requirements and in accordance with the Head Chef and in partnership with People & Development
  • Carry out regular performance reviews, provide feedback and coaching to direct reports as per the P&D guidelines - adhering to deadlines.
  • Deal with poor performance through job chats and where necessary, facilitate disciplinary processes according to Soho House procedures.
