JOB SUMMARY
Part of Marriott International, the worlds largest hospitality brand with properties in more than 120 countries and territories, we are ideally situated on 11 acres of lush immaculately landscaped grounds. The hotel is opposite the East of England Showground and close to the A1 for an easy commute.
Your role as Sous Chef will be to support the Executive Head Chef to lead our dynamic kitchen and take the hotel to a whole new level in all food related operations. By crafting delectable dishes to tickle the taste buds, mentoring junior chefs, and sharing your valuable knowledge and experience, you will help create memorable dining experiences that delight the senses and elevate our guests’ stay!
Responsibilities:
- Create and execute innovative and exquisite menus, preparing high quality and visually appealing dishes.
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to meet and exceed guest expectations.
- Train, mentor, and guide junior chefs, fostering a collaborative and growth-orientated kitchen environment.
- Maintain kitchen hygiene, safety, and sanitation standards in compliance with regulations, ensuring all documentation is in order.
- Assist in managing kitchen inventory, minimizing waste, and controlling costs.
- Exhibit strong leadership skills managing kitchen operations during the absence of the Executive Chef.
- Support menu development and participate in tastings to introduce new dishes.
