Description:

40 hours per week (Tuesday to Saturday 9.30am – 6.30pm)
We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated, reliable and experienced Chef who has a passion for food and excellent service and is keen to grow their career by joining our team at Wakefield Hospital.
Wakefield Hospital, based in the heart of Wellington, offers a wide range of high-quality private healthcare services, and Cater Plus is proud to be delivering restaurant quality food offerings to patients, as well as café options for staff and visitors.
Reporting to our Food Services Manager and working as part of a team, you will be involved in all aspects of food preparation and service.

To be successful in this role, you will need a minimum of 3 years’ experience in the food industry and be able to:

  • Prepare, cook, and serve a-la-carte restaurant quality food for patients,
  • Discuss food preparation issues with managers and kitchen staff,
  • Cater for varying dietary requirements and allergies within a hospital facility,
  • Monitor quality of food at all stages of preparation and presentation,
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, safe and hazard free environment,
  • Work at a high level without supervision, and have experience managing staff,
  • Be able to run an efficient kitchen in the absence of the Food Services Manager,
  • Be friendly and engaging and know what it means to deliver outstanding customer service.
