Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the vascular service at Swansea Bay University Health Board.
We are looking to recruit a Vascular Network Operational Manager who will be responsible for leading and managing the service across South Wales, West Wales and South Powys.
The aim of a Vascular Network is to improve patient outcomes, and ensure that services are sustainable and equitable for the population they serve. A vascular network provides coordinated vascular services for a population across a wide geographical area and involving a number of different hospitals.
This will include ensuring effective engagement of patients, professionals and constituent organisations in network activities that support the delivery of nationally and locally agreed outcomes in line with local needs and resources.
You will be responsible for leading and managing the development and delivery of effective operational delivery network arrangements for patients with vascular complications across South Wales, West Wales & South Powys.

The Vascular Network Operational Manager will lead the provision of an efficient, effective and high quality professional and well-coordinated service, capable of meeting all statutory, regulatory and NHS requirem ents you will have a coordinating responsibility for ensuring the needs are met for all patients with vascular complications, and this will include:

  • Maintaining and coordinate patient flow across the vascular pathway.
  • Leading the development, and coordinating implementation and delivery of standards and pathways.
  • Promoting and supporting cross-organisational and clinical multi-professional collaboration.
  • Providing advice on future service provision to commissioners and providers, including the commissioning, delivery, designation of regional services, e.g. in response to changes in legislation or guidance, emerging published evidence or technological developments.
  • Developing and implementing an effective framework for monitoring quality and performance; and establishing a network-wide audit programme.
  • Developing the framework for the operational delivery network.
  • The post holder will provide operational and strategic management to the network. This includes ensuring that there are agreed patient pathways in place, a robust governance structure and mechanisms for reviewing performance.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

You will be expected to Work with the Network Chair, Lead Clinicians, Health Boards and NHS Trusts, and commissioners, to provide leadership and direction to the work of the network.
You will p rovide leadership and support and produce, analyse and present information that will assist the Network Board in decision-making. At times, this information will cover a variety of organisations and will be highly complex.
You will be responsible for organising any associated events and meetings, together with writing and presenting reports for the Network Board.
