Job Description

  • Performs services and treatments pertaining to the Beauty/Spa Therapist classification; facial treatments, body treatments, body massages including aromatherapy massage, deep muscle massage, and any other Spa treatment offered.
  • Recommends wellness-inducing lifestyle practices, as well as home care (retail) to guests following a thoughtful evaluation of their wellbeing based on Consultation Form and observations made during treatment.
  • Acts responsibly at all times in relation to personal safety along with the safety of colleagues and guests of the spa.
  • Builds rapport with guests, actively establishing genuine emotional connection to create a loyal clientele.
  • Maintains and proactively updates own knowledge of all treatments, wellness journeys and any current promotions.
  • Acts as the In House Trainer for the Therapist team, assisting with product and procedures.
  • Liaises with official partner brand trainers to ensure updated protocols are observed and product knowledge is up to date.
  • Assists with the recruitment, induction, training, and supervision of all Spa Therapists as per Sofitel Spa service standards and operational protocols.
  • Creates list of operational tasks for the Therapist team to conduct during slow periods.
  • Is aware of staff moral and councils where necessary, attempting to resolve grievances as quickly as possible.
  • Assists in the building of an efficient team of employees by taking an active interest in their welfare, safety and development.
  • Ensures product usage adheres to established treatment protocols, training Therapists to minimising wastage.
  • Conducts regular standard tests and room checks on Therapists, keeping records to assist in accurate rewards based on Spa Incentive Programme.
  • Maintains an understanding of the functions of other departments and how these interlink with the spa.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to work a rotating roster that includes morning, evening, weekend and public holidays shifts.
  • Educated to a Diploma level (Beauty or Massage, ideally both).
  • Previous experience as a Senior/Lead Therapist in a luxury five-star spa environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of spa treatments and techniques.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team of Therapists to deliver outstanding guest service and drive the financial performance of the spa.
  • Outstanding guest relations skills with experience of dealing with high profile clientele.
  • Strong sales skills to genuinely and confidently drive retail sales.
  • Impeccable personal presentation and excellent communication skills.
