JOB SUMMARY:

To develop and manage MB SPACE team and processes within the MB organisation. To implement the SPACE strategy and to drive profitability through space and delivery optimisation. To own the internal and external relationships for the new space management and implementation service offered to the customers of MB.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage, motivate and develop the team
  • Demonstrable ability to work in a fast paced, team based, deadline-oriented environment
  • The ability to effectively manage complex tasks and prioritise multiple projects and competing priorities
  • Proficiency in using space planning or merchandising software
  • Strong organisation and project management skills
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills
  • Outstanding written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong technical capabilities including Microsoft Office and AutoCAD
  • Ability to interact and deal effectively with diverse groups of people at all levels of the business
  • Relevant industry experience with suitable managerial pedigree
  • Relevant university degree or equivalent experience

Responsibilities:

  • Drive a best in class SPACE strategy across the business
  • Champion the next phase of the SPACE process and team with wide reaching communication and engagement of the strategy and action plan
  • Deliver the 12 point SPACE strategy action plan on time and to budget
  • Recruit, develop and manage an effective and cohesive SPACE team
  • Provide training, coaching and guidance to the SPACE CAD design team in the creation, revision, and maintenance of layouts and planograms to align to restaurant demand, menu changes and market conditions
  • Support, train and coach the field based SPACE Implementers ensuring that field based deployments are well planned, optimised and cost effective
  • Drive profitability by reducing and mitigating restaurant deliveries through improved space management and utilization
  • Own, manage, develop and deliver all system and software related activities across the process and team
  • Work with a defined set of data to drive improvement in space utilisation including linear conversion per chamber and cubic stock holding
  • Continuous development and improvement of the SPACE data toolkit and associated business links and decision making
  • Owner of the SPACE roadmap, calendar and process driving optimum ROI within the team and organisation
  • Continued development of space management tools and processes
  • Work to develop dynamic processes to adjust space allocation to suit seasonal and promotional demands
  • Continually review performance and the impact of changes to the SPACE strategy, sharing recommendations and insight on progress
  • Work to, develop and measure a clear set of KPIs for the SPACE team
  • Work closely with the NPD team to understand range and menu changes for current trading and strategic, forward-thinking planning
  • Build and maintain collaborative partnerships with cross functional teams including Scheduling, RSP, Strategy, Service
  • Build strong, strategic relationships with senior leaders across the internal MB business
  • Develop strong and robust relationships with MCD restaurant and franchisee teams with the specific objective of raising the profile, reputation and credibility of the SPACE service proposition
  • To ensure that the all areas of the SPACE process are assessed and reviewed against agreed H&S standards

  • Internal - Service, RSP, Scheduling, Strategy, IT, SLT, Senior Management
  • External - MCD construction, Fixture suppliers, Software suppliers
