JOB SUMMARY

Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is looking for an enthusiastic, well-qualified individual to fill the Space Training Specialist position and to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.
In this role, the primary focus is to provide comprehensive training engineering support encompassing the planning, analysis, acquisition, and development of Space Force Training Capabilities. The incumbent will play a central role in delivering integrated support for requirements development, conducting training reviews, facilitating curriculum development, strategizing training initiatives, and overseeing related activities.
Candidates are expected to bring substantial experience in crew training, training evaluation, and analysis, with a proven track record in the development of crew consoles and aids for both space systems and military applications. Moreover, the role entails active participation in drafting and recommending space training policies, procedures, and concepts to enhance the efficacy of space training operations. Independent assessment of safety and mission protection/security implications will also be integral, alongside advanced planning and deconfliction of training assets, coordination and scheduling of training missions, and utilization of visualization, planning, and scheduling tools. Real-time monitoring of safety and security during training activities is paramount.
Technical proficiency in areas such as human-machine interfaces, operational aspects of training environments, and the operation of training simulators is essential to excel in this position. Job Requirements:

SKILLS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • 15 years of relevant work experience within the Department of Defense (DoD), providing a wealth of expertise in diverse operational contexts
  • Demonstrates a robust background working within System Program Offices (SPOs) and/or Program Management Offices (PMOs), showcasing adeptness in strategic oversight and project management.
  • Exhibits comprehensive knowledge and practical experience in Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E), leveraging sophisticated test and training materiel systems to drive innovation and progress.
  • Possesses a nuanced understanding of the fielding and sustainment processes associated with space test and training materiel systems, ensuring seamless integration and sustained operational readiness.
  • Proficient in the application of Model Based Systems Engineering, employing advanced methodologies to streamline system development and optimization.
  • Familiarity with a broad spectrum of domains including Space System Architectures, Satellite and Ground Segment design, electro-optical (EO) Infrared (IR), and Radio Frequency (RF) Sensors, Astrodynamics, Propulsion, Guidance Navigation and Control (GNC), Space-related data communications, and Space Battle Management and Control, highlighting a comprehensive grasp of space technology domains.
  • Demonstrates exceptional written and oral communication skills, coupled with a demonstrated ability to lead effectively and foster collaborative teamwork.
  • Acknowledged as an industry leader, renowned for outstanding analytical skills and significant contributions to the field, establishing a reputation as a trailblazer and influencer in the domain

EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS

  • BA/BS - STEM or equivalent experience (mandatory)
  • MS/MA (preferred) - STEM or equivalent experience (mandatory)
  • Key Skills/Experience Required for Interview Selection ONLY
  • Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E) of test and training materiel systems
  • Fielding and Sustainment of test and training materiel systems
  • Model Based Systems Engineering, human machine interfaces, operations of training environments, and training simulators
  • Space System Architectures, Satellite and Ground Segment design, electro-optical (EO) Infrared (IR), and Radio Frequency (RF) Sensors, Astrodynamics, Propulsion, Guidance Navigation and Control (GNC), Space-related data communications, or Space Battle Management and Control
  • Recent experience working in a classified environment with classified programs

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner and that may include lifting to thirty pounds, as necessary.
