We currently have an opening for a Spatial Data Management Group Supervisor.
The primary responsibility of the Spatial Data Management Group Supervisor is to provide crucial support to the GIS Unit, which requires specialization in GIS technology and an advanced understanding of GIS databases, Web Services, application, and system development.
Duties include, but are not limited, to:
- Supervise a small GIS team in project activities and daily system maintenance for DOT’s spatial data sets
- Provide technical leadership and hands on technical guidance to Spatial Data Management group in Geodatabase design, implementation, testing, Qa/Qc, and needed troubleshooting
- Work with the business and GIS Unit product teams to gather and understand requirements for new spatial data related initiatives
- Support and consult GIS users in data acquisition, maintenance, and sharing

- Demonstrated experience in Enterprise Spatial Database implementation
- Demonstrated experience gathering requirements to design and develop geospatial database
- Demonstrated experience with System/user support for ArcGIS Enterprise
- Demonstrated experience developing procedures and guidelines for Spatial database management
- Demonstrated experience in GIS Project Management
The following Management Preferences are not required, but applicants that possess these skills are preferred:
- Knowledge of Cloud Computing
- Knowledge of IT governance, operations, and project management
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or an IT related field or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of progressive experience in business application consulting or development
OR
Associate degree in computer science or an IT related field or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution and five years of progressive experience in business application consulting or development
OR
High School or General Education Development (GED) diploma and eight years of experience in business application consulting or development; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
