Description:

The Cambridge Conservation Initiative (CCI) is a unique partnership between leaders in biodiversity conservation research, education, policy and practice from six founding University Departments (Zoology, Plant Sciences, Geography, Land Economy, Cambridge Judge Business School and Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership) and nine internationally renowned Cambridge-based conservation organisations (Birdlife International, British Trust for Ornithology, Cambridge Conservation Forum, Fauna & Flora International, International Union for the Conservation of Nature, RSPB, Traffic International, Tropical Biological Association, the UN Environment World Conservation Monitoring Centre and the Wildlife Conservation Society).
The Special Programmes Administrator will support the efficient and smooth running of projects on behalf of the CCI Strategy Director and the CCI Strategy and Special Programmes Manager, working with other members of the Programme Management team, CCI Administrators, CCI Collaborations and Engagement Manager, CCI Communications Manager, CCI partners, staff from the Judge Business School (especially in the Finance and Administration Department), staff from other University departments and with other organisations.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of providing administrative and secretarial support. This includes coordinating efforts and collaborating effectively with diverse teams and multiple stakeholders, both locally and internationally. The candidate should be adept at handling financial processes, tracking expenses, and ensuring fiscal responsibility. Additionally, they should have a good working knowledge of office technologies and software, including audio-visual equipment systems, databases, and video-conferencing software. Excellent oral and written communication skills are vital, in addition to being well-organised, thriving under pressure, meeting deadlines, and maintaining high-quality work. Whilst not essential, having an interest in environmental issues and conservation would be advantageous.
