REQUIREMENTS AND RELEVANT INFORMATION:

  • One (1) x full-time, 12 month fixed term position (from 10 September 2024) available.
  • This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
  • The successful applicant will be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head. To achieve this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen.
  • The successful applicant will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Specialist Intelligence Unit is seeking an experienced intelligence professional for the role of Specialist Analyst. As the successful applicant, you will examine and analyse state-wide crime and community safety issues, with emphasis on providing an understanding of the strategic drivers and enablers of the issue and potential opportunities for prevention, intervention, and disruption. You will model leadership attributes in the workplace and across the organisation through the provision of guidance in intelligence analysis and related skillsets. You will contribute to Victoria Police intelligence holdings by remaining conversant with current national and international trends in crime and public safety.

YOUR DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Scanning of the environment to identify issues that may impact community safety;
  • Conducting analysis on trends, issues and drivers to inform senior decision makers;
  • Preparing high quality intelligence products on a range of issues including crime and community safety;
  • Developing strategic intelligence to be utilised across the organisation; and
  • Providing intelligence briefings to Executive Command and other stakeholders as required.
