You will join a team of Clinical Scientists, Audiologists and will work closely with ENT colleagues to provide this specialist service. The post holder will also be a member of the wider audiology team which includes both adult and paediatric audiology. Some clinical work in these areas may be possible for the interested candidate.
Although the post is funded as 0.9WTE, we would welcome applications from clinicians interested in other part-time contract hours.
The role primarily involves carrying out assessments of suitability for BAHAs and Middle Ear Implants, together with the fitting and programming of these devices, for predominantly adult patients. Full training will be provided and opportunities for some paediatric work is possible. You will be expected to contribute to service development, evaluation, audit, and research. You will work as part of a team dedicated to quality and effective patient care and be responsible for the adult bone anchored follow-up service.
We are looking for someone with a positive approach and can-do attitude who has enthusiasm for auditory implants. You will need to have post-qualification experience in adult audiology and some experience with bone anchored hearing aids would be desirable. Previous experience of paediatric second tester would be beneficial, but training can be provided for the right candidate.
You would be joining a large team comprising Audiologists, Assistant Audiologists, Clinical Scientists (Audiology), Hearing Therapists and administrative colleagues. There is also an in-house CPD programme and all colleagues are encouraged to take advantage of training and development opportunities within the Trust and beyond. All members of the team are involved in service development as we work towards IQIPS accreditation.
Applicants should have an MSc in Audiology with CAC / HTS, or STP in Neurosciences (Audiology modality) or have a BSc in Audiology / PTP Healthcare Science (Audiology) with evidence of further training / qualifications in Audiology. You will be an Audiologist or a Clinical Scientist (Audiology) registered with the Academy of Healthcare Science or the Health and Care Professions Council (registered as a Clinical Scientist).
The post will involve remote working on average for 1 day per week (once fully trained) and the post holder must be able to work Monday, Thursdays, and Fridays. Flexible hours and working patterns may be accommodated beyond this.
