Description:

To work within a multi disciplinary CAMHS team and provide therapeutic packages of care to children and young people and their families in both community and clinic settings and to provide care coordination under the Mental Health Wales (2010) Measure where appropriate.
The post holder will carry out comprehensive assessments within CAMHS, including assessments of self harm and risk and be responsible for a caseload of young people and families suffering with a variety of mental health difficulties.
The post holder will liaise closely with other agencies and professionals and provide consultation when required. There will also be a need to provide teaching and training to others.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.”
To carry out initial comprehensive specialist assessment of children and their families using the appropriate assessment tools/proformas.
To be responsible for planning and developing a programme of care, acting as care co-ordinator within the Mental Health (Wales) Measure 2010.
This includes assessment, treatment and evaluation in both community and clinic settings to meet the needs of individual clients and their carers in accordance with agree protocols of care and based on best available evidence.
To liaise closely with other agencies and attend meetings such as core groups and case conferences where the post holder will be expected to provide and receive complex sensitive information and process this information accordingly.
To work as a member of the family therapy team where appropriate.
To make clinical decisions and work autonomously in a variety of settings, having an understanding of a range of work procedures and practises, which requires expertise underpinned by relevant clinical experience and knowledge within CAMHS.
