Description:

Undertakes a range of cardiac diagnostic tests and procedures including specialist tests. Interprets test results and provides accurate factual reports for clinicians. Is in training to perform cardiac ultrasound examinations and learns to produce a clinical report for the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac abnormalities. Takes a lead role in Physiologist managed exercise testing. Provides clinical supervision and training for junior staff and other healthcare professionals. Participation in an out of hours on-call rota for emergency cardiac intervention may be required to meet the service need.
Undertakes a wide range of cardiac diagnostic tests, including specialist cardiac clinical physiological tests and procedures performed in a tertiary cardiac center.
Performs complex cardiac ultrasound examinations under direct supervision until deemed competent to be independent.
Produces complex, specialist clinical reports on cardiac ultrasound scans (echocardiograms) for all specialties for the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac abnormalities when deemed competent.
Assists with invasive cardiac ultrasound examinations (Trans Oesophageal Echocardiogram).
