ABOUT THE ROLE

At CatholicCare Diocese of Broken Bay we pride ourselves at making positive difference in the lives of the people we serve. Our services include NDIS disability services, out of home care, services for seniors, children’s services and a range of Therapeutic and Community Service offerings.
As part of a growth initiative, we are now looking for a Specialist Case Manager for our Men’s Behaviour Change Program with a Multicultural focus. The program is for men who have perpetrated violence and are wanting to end their use of controlling and abusive behaviours in their relationships.
The purpose of this position is to provide men’s behaviour change interventions through specialist case management. This role will adopt a whole of family approach to families experiencing domestic, family and sexual violence, where men using violence are living with cognitive impairment.
This is a part-time (3 days per week or 22.8 hours per week), fixed term contract available until end of June 2026, based in Waitara, NSW.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide targeted whole of family, men’s behaviour change case management services including - intake, suitability screening, assessment and appropriate referrals to meet client needs, contractual requirements and guidelines.
  • Provide time-framed, response-based practice and trauma-informed safety planning, DFSV education, support and referrals to all members of the family impacted by DFSV.
  • Develop and deliver workshops to the MBCP sector to inform and educate on the progress and learnings of work in the Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) community.
  • Deliver outreach services within the CALD community, including groups to targeted areas, stakeholders within the CALD service system and as required.
  • Other suitable duties as required from time to time to support the service within the skill set, knowledge and scope of the role.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL HAVE:

  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Social Science, Welfare, Psychology or related discipline and/or demonstrated relevant industry experience.
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience working in a similar role with Men & Families.
  • An understanding of the nuances, complexity and risk in working with CALD families experiencing DFSV.
  • Demonstrated Case Management experience working in a whole of family response where there is DFSV.
  • Extensive experience in attachment theory, play therapy for child developmental trauma, family systems theory, men’s behaviour change, domestic violence training and parenting support and education.
  • Training in the Graduate Certificate in men’s behaviour change work with the NSW Health Education Centre Against Violence or willingness to undergo such training.
  • Knowledge of and experience in the NSW Risk Safety and Support Framework.
  • Experience in delivering presentations and talks to support sector development and community awareness.
  • A valid NSW Driver’s Licence and insured vehicle.
