Description:
The children’s physiotherapy team, based at St Mary’s Hospital, provides a comprehensive acute and community service to Central and North Westminster and North Kensington and Chelsea localities. An exciting opportunity has arisen to work clinically for a 12 month Fixed Ter-Contract within our Children’s Physiotherapy Service, which provides a comprehensive acute and community service to North Kensington and Chelsea and North Westminster localities. You will provide community physiotherapy for children with complex needs within the Woodfield Child Development Service (CDS) and the North Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC) Early Years Service. You will work with a multi-disciplinary and multi-agency team across health, education and social care, supporting children’s growth and development to achieve their full potential.
The post will give you the opportunity to develop or stretch your clinical and leadership skills in line with your personal development plan, with supervision and support from Clinical Lead Children’s Physiotherapists. Excellent teamwork and communication are essential for this role as you will be responsible for the training of physiotherapy/multi-agency staff and have the opportunity to build strong partnerships with children, young people and their families.
The post holder will work within the Woodfield Child Development Physiotherapy Service (CDS) which provides a community service to children and young people (0-19 years) in the North Kensington & Chelsea and North & Central Westminster localities. Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust is the lead provider for the CDS with Physiotherapy provision subcontracted from Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. The Children’s Physiotherapy team work within a multi-disciplinary and multi-agency team across health, education and social care. Babies, children and adolescents presenting with a wide variety of conditions are treated at home, in day-care and educational facilities, the physiotherapy department and at the Medical Centre, Woodfield Road. The contribution to medical clinics takes place across sites.
