Valmet’s Energy Business Unit (BU) is the home of fluidized bed boilers and gasification, pyrolysis and flue gas cleaning technologies. We are looking for a Specialist, Combustibility, to strengthen our Technology Competences department located in Tampere.
Technology Competences is composed of technical experts who focus on research and development activities related to both new technologies and existing products. We are also providing specialist support to other departments in Valmet’s Pulp & Energy Business Line. Other members of the team are specialists in process chemistry, material technology and modelling. The team also participates in field measurements and experimental research in Valmet’s own R&D Center and customer sites.
As a Specialist, Combustibility, you will be responsible for:
- Performing theoretical and practical combustibility studies
- Maintaining and improving combustibility-related databases
- Providing sales and project support in questions related to combustibility
- Follow-up R&D activities within the field of combustion chemistry
Characteristics, skills and experience that we are looking for:
You have a suitable educational background, M.Sc. in e.g., Chemistry, Energy Technology or Process Engineering. You have good knowledge of combustion chemistry, e.g., high-temperature slagging and fouling phenomena and corrosion. Knowledge of fluidized bed processes and flue gas cleaning technologies is seen as an advantage.
You are a result-oriented, customer-focused team player with the ability to work also independently. You have a willingness to develop your competence in your area of expertise. You are fluent in Finnish and English. Other languages are seen as a benefit.
