Description:

Exciting opportunities to develop your professional career are on offer with Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust (CNWL) in Camden.
We are inviting NMC qualified nurses, to apply for a training contract that offers the opportunity to complete the Post Graduate Diploma (PGDip) in Public Health Practice. You will gain a Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (SCPHN) Qualification in Health Visiting.
You will be given a Fixed term one year Full-time contract to undertake a PGDip Specialist Community Public Health Nurse course (Health Visiting) at Kings College University.
Sponsorship will be paid at a band 5 salary.
The course commences September 2024 to be completed by September 2025. It is a full calendar year, consisting of 50% academic study and 50% in practice (start dates to be confirmed by the University). The practice placements will be situated across Camden.

These are fully funded training opportunities; subject to funding being made available from Health Education England, to qualify as a registered Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (Health Visitor) and is open to all qualified Nurses and Midwives.

Using their clinical judgement and risk assessments to keep the people using our services as safe as possible
Safeguarding people by recognising and responding when an adult or child might be at risk from abuse but also recognising their own limits and asking for help and escalate concerns when necessary
Escalating safety concerns and by doing so acting as effective advocates for those who use our services
Being open and transparent about their own practice
Supervising the work of others
Reflecting on everyday practice to identify areas where improvements in safety or quality can be made
Working with others to create a culture of continuous improvement
Maintaining accurate, legible, comprehensive records
Maintaining compliance with their mandatory training requirements.
The NMC plays an important role in safeguarding the public by regulating the work of nurses and all nurses, including Student Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (Health Visitor), are expected to register with the NMC each year and adhere to the NMC Code of Conduct
