Description:

The service is looking to recruit a specialist counsellor who will provide valuable input within our recovery oriented drug and alcohol psychology pathway and contribute to the planning and development of the service, in line with the service specifications.
This is a new fixed term role in the service (ending 31st March 2025 but vacancy may be extended dependent on funding) and the main purpose will be to support the delivery of a range of psychological interventions. This will involve assessing and supporting people with substance use problems in their recovery journeys while keeping in mind trauma-informed principles as well as the available clinical evidence
As a specialist counsellor, you will bring important relational counselling skills in working with people in drug and alcohol recovery, and you will be familiar with up to date specialist knowledge of latest theoretical and service delivery guidance. You will have a degree in counselling or other related field and be BACP accredited or equivalent.
Specialist counselling will play a key role in enhancing our therapeutic programs and involve working directly with clients accessing our Drug and Alcohol Specialist Psychology Service.
