As a Customs and Trade Specialist at the location in Krefeld, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring seamless product flow within the ASICS EMEA region. You’ll collaborate with various stakeholders, both internal and external, to navigate complex regulatory environments and maintain compliance. Your expertise will be instrumental in managing customs operations, ensuring legal compliance in national and international trade, and optimizing our supply chain processes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Several years of professional experience in customs, trade compliance, and/or import/export.
  • Experience with AEO certification and knowledge of relevant requirements.
  • Official and up-to-date training certificate as a Customs specialist certified by EU CUSTOMS AUTHORITIES (yearly renewal).
  • Knowledge of tax law is beneficial.
  • Strong research, writing, communication, and analytics skills.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken)

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor transactions to ensure legal retention requirements are met, manage licenses, and oversee import/export orders and location registrations.
  • Collaborate closely with business units, supply chain entities, and local subsidiaries to provide guidance and governance in a dynamic regulatory environment.
  • Facilitate smooth transportation of products across customs borders, manage customs processes, and ensure compliance with free trade agreements.
  • Work with headquarters, Master Data Management, and Supply Planning Departments to classify products correctly and ensure adherence to regulatory controls.
  • Support customs and Extended Producer Responsibility audits in EMEA countries.
  • Ensure timely registration of EPR and packaging regulations information with regional/local authorities.
  • Coordinate collaboration with external consultants on trade compliance and packaging regulations within the EMEA region.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, provide training to stakeholders, and foster transparent communication within the organization.
