ABOUT YOU

We are looking for the right person, with a good attitude who will be a solid team fit with the following skills and experiences: -

  • Proven experience of working as a Data analyst/ specialist
  • Reporting, Analysis & Visualisation technical skills including the use of reporting & analysis tools such as SQL, Tableau or similar.
  • Proven experience of using JIRA/Confluence and Github
  • Familiarity in DBT and an understanding of its core concepts and functionalities,
  • Effectively uses technical capabilities to monitor & evaluate performance.
  • Strong understanding of insurance data, such as claims, finance, pricing or reserving data, is highly desirable.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organisational and documentation skills.
  • Familiarity with data governance, data quality, and data security principles,
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers, and product specialists.

This is a full time, permanent role that is open to people based in Australia and New Zealand.
This role offers flexible working conditions that support a mix of working from home and being in the office.

Responsibilities:

We have an exciting opportunity for a savvy Data Product Specialist to join our Claims, Data Product Team. In this role you will provide subject matter expertise over the data elements within our data product.
This is a critical role in bridging the gap between business requirements and technical implementation. You will work closely with stakeholders to gather and analyse business processes, generate requirements, and collaborate with data engineers and testers to ensure the successful implementation of data solutions.

Some of the key responsibilities of this role will be: -

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their data and reporting requirements in the claims insurance industry.
  • Gather and document business requirements, perform business process analysis, and identify opportunities for data-driven insights and improvements.
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications and data models, leveraging the capabilities of dbt.
  • Work closely with data engineers and testers to design and implement scalable data pipelines, data models, and transformations using dbt.
  • Perform data analysis and validation to ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance with industry regulations.
  • Collaborate with the product team to ensure the seamless integration of dbt into the data infrastructure and tools.
  • Conduct data profiling and identify data quality issues, providing recommendations and solutions.
  • Develop and maintain data documentation, including data dictionaries, data lineage, and data flow diagrams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including other data product specialists and data engineers, to drive data initiatives and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to dbt and insurance data analysis.
