• Provide specialized care to the patients according to current best evidence-based standards and in accordance with Bylaws and Rules and Regulations.
• Responsible for the specialized medical care of patients.
• Required to be involved in non-clinical medical centre matters and care of any patient when required.
• Responsible for compliance to the ethical and professional standards set by the medical centre and regulatory
  authorities.

To apply medical knowledge and skills to the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of illnesses, diseases, and infections in patients.

• Adhere to a high standard of clinical consultations and physical examinations.
• Provide appropriate medical advice; arrange investigations and prescribe treatments when required.
• Refer patients to another practitioner when this is in the patient’s best interests.
• Recognize and function within the limits of own clinical knowledge and competence.
• Consult and take advice from colleagues Prescribe drugs or treatment, including repeat prescriptions, only when adequate knowledge of the patient’s health status has been acquired and the drugs or treatment serves the patient’s needs.
• Provide effective treatment based on the best available evidence.
• Take steps to alleviate pain and distress whether or not a cure may be possible.
• Optimal utilization of the available resources.
• All patients are entitled to care and treatment to meet their clinical needs.
• Patients may not be refused treatment because their medical conditions may pose a risk.
• Take all necessary action / steps to minimize the risk before providing treatment or make suitable alternative arrangements for treatment Offer assistance in emergency situations, taking into account own safety, competence, and the availability of other options for care.
• Ensure suitable arrangements have been made for patients’ medical care when not on duty. These arrangements should include effective hand-over procedures, involving clear communication with healthcare colleagues.
• Ensure patient care or treatment is delegated to a suitably qualified and experienced individual.

• Provide all relevant information about the patient, including their medical history, the results of the investigations, the treatment provided, current condition and any other information necessary for the continuation of care when referring a patient to another health care professional.Take full responsibility for own professional practice and always be prepared to justify own decisions and actions.

• • Responsible for providing comprehensive level of patient care in the scope of specialty and practice
• Where applicable, participates in the oversight and professional development of

medical staff

• Participates in the educational activities of the Medical Staff as a whole
• Participates in review and planning activities relevant to the development of the

Specialty Service and the Medical Centre

• Participates in activities and opportunities to promote the Specialty Service and the

Medical Centre to the general public and wider medical community of Emirate and the UAE.

• Fulfils professional requirements for continuing maintenance of competence in all

aspects of Specialty.
