JOB SUMMARY

The Specialist I, Knowledge Management & Learning (KML) will support IDEA’s BD team on moving forward strategic KML initiatives as prioritized by BD leadership and CRS’ BD Community of Practice (CoP). Working with the Senior BD Specialist, Strategic Initiatives & KML, the position will manage key learning platforms (dashboards, SharePoint pages) and communication channels (Teams pages, email inboxes) for the BD CoP and will support the planning and coordination of BD CoP activities and learning events. The position will also support regular and ad hoc BD reporting and data analysis. Matrixed to IDEA’s Growth Strategy and Support Unit, the Specialist I, KML will manage CRS’ roster of BD consultants and, time permitting, provide BD surge support to live proposal funding opportunities.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least a year of experience in a developing country
  • Experience with competitive proposals in programming contexts similar to CRS and familiarity with key BD concepts and terminology preferred.
  • Familiarity with and desire to continue learning of knowledge management and learning functions.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to edit and format documents, presentations, SharePoint sites, and other products desired.
  • Experience with the use of or willingness to learn technologies for use to support KML, such as Power Bi, Miro, Powtoon a plus. Ability to quickly learn new tools and technologies; interest and experience in using technology and new platforms to improve work efficiency.Knowledge of CRS programs, justice agenda and Catholic Social Teaching principles a plus.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSAS)

  • Experience using MS Windows and MS Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Web Conferencing Applications, information management systems.
  • Good strategic, analytical, systems thinking, and problem-solving skills, with capacity to see the big picture.
  • Good relations management abilities. Ability to relate to people at all levels internally and externally.
  • Very good communications and presentation skills.Proactive, resourceful, solutions-oriented, and results-oriented.

  • Required Languages – Fluent English; proficiency in French and/or Spanish a plus.
    Travel – Willingness and ability to travel internationally approximately 10% of the time to support training and learning events a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a database of key BD tools and resources and assigned BD subject matter expert (SME) owners. Liaise closely with assigned BD SME owners to communicate schedules for tool and resource updates/development and provide instructions on inputs needed.
  • Provide administrative support, with potential to take on additional responsibilities, related to the planning and coordination of BD CoP activities and learning events, including the monthly Connect and Reflect sessions, and annual global Business Development Summits.
  • Manage key learning platforms for the BD CoP, such as the IDEA and BD MyCRS (SharePoint) and Microsoft Teams sites. Support the Senior BD Specialist, Strategic Initiatives & KML on developing new platforms when needed.
  • Manage the bdresources@crs.org inbox and BD email lists, working with the Senior BD Specialist, Strategic Initiatives & KML to ensure timely responses to inquiries.
  • Lead the development of the monthly Resource Acquisition Report and provide significant support to the development of the annual State of Resource Mobilization Report and/or semi-annual resource updates, and other communications as needed.
  • Manage CRS memberships to relevant platforms such as Devex, Miro, and GovTribe.
  • Manage TDYs and/or consultancies related to business development KML, ensuring timely submission of requisitions and invoices in Insight.
  • Matrixed to the GSSU BD Manager, manage the bdconsultancies@crs.org inbox, ensuring timely responses to applicants and regular updating of the BD Consultant roster.
  • Time permitting, provide direct BD surge support to live proposals. Support can range from supporting development and formatting of annexes to eventually possible coordination of less complex proposal processes.Participate actively in the BD and KML communities of practice.
